Todays recipe is another easy one containing ingredients that you probably already have in your cabinet! Recently, I’ve started switching to a more nontoxic lifestyle when it comes to beauty products, and cleaning products. So I’ve been looking into things that I could make myself, rather than buy at the store. This has helped me cut down our grocery expenses, as well as have enough laundry boost to last me months!
Here’s how to make your own laundry scent booster:
Ingredients:
- glass airtight container
- 2 cups of epsom salt
- 1/2 cup of baking soda
- 30 drops of essential oils
Directions:
- In your glass container, add in your epsom salt and baking soda and give a good stir.
- Add in 30 drops of your essential oils, I like to use some type of citrus oil or lavender.
- Mix so that the oil is well incorporated.
When doing laundry, sprinkle in 2 tbs of this mixture over your clothes to help mask any odors, and boost your colors. I like to double or triple the recipe so that I have a large batch on hand.
Such a simple diy, and its a perfect alternative for store bought scent boosters, that are full of harmful ingredients that aren’t the best for you or your washer.
