You can’t have cold weather without making some yummy chicken and noodles! We prefer ours fairly thick, rather than the soup version, so this crock pot recipe is perfect for that! Most everything for this recipe is probably already in your pantry or fridge, since it’s made with kitchen staple ingredients. I love how this meal is something you can quickly throw together and let cook without doing much to it. I throw this together in the morning and its ready by the time Ethan gets home in the evening. Here’s how to make it.
What you need:
- A crockpot
- 4 skinless and boneless chicken breasts (thawed)
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Poultry Seasoning
- 1 & 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 Cans of cream of chicken soup (or one cream of chicken + one cream of celery)
- 1 Stick of butter cut into slices (you can use unsalted if you’d like)
- 1 tsp Better than bouillon chicken flavor (this is optional, but it makes it taste extra chicken-y haha)
- 3 1/2 cups Chicken broth
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Broth
- 1/2 cup water
- 24 oz Reames homestyle egg noodles (frozen)
Directions:
1.) In a crock pot, add your chicken breasts and season with salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and garlic powder.
2.) Spread the 2 cans of soup over the chicken breasts.
3.) Cut your butter into slices, and add over the soup layer.
4.) In a separate bowl, mix the bouillon powder with the broths, and water. Then pour that mixture into the crock pot.
5.) Put on the lid and cook on low for 6 hours, or on high for 3 hours (until the chicken can easily be shredded).
6.) Remove chicken to a plate and shred.
7.) Add your noodles and the chicken back into the pot and stir until all combined.
8.) Put the lid back on and cook for 1-2 hours. Be sure to stir halfway through cooking.
9.) Serve by itself or with hot rolls (we like to eat our chicken and noodles layered over some homemade mashed potatoes). Enjoy!!
Tip: If your chicken and noodles are too dry for your taste, add a little more water or broth.
I hope y’all enjoy this recipe as much as we do! Be sure to tag me or message me if you make it! I’d love to see all the food pics haha.
