I recently shared my diaper bag over in my Instagram stories, and received a few questions from expecting and fellow mamas, about what I carry with me in it. So I figured it would be fun to write a blog post sharing all the things I carry for both my toddler and myself when we’re on the go. Obviously things will look different if you have an infant versus a toddler, so when our little man gets here, I’ll do an updated version of what we carry for y’all then!
I do want to start out by saying I have tried out quite a few diaper bags to see what works best for us and I’m personally a fan of the backpack bags that can easily convert to a shoulder bag. We have both an affordable diaper bag and one we splurged on once Remi got older, both have worked great, but I want to break down each one individually for y’all!
Affordable: Miss Fong Diaper Bag
The first bag I ordered to try was from Miss Fong on Amazon, which looked extremely similar to the Fawn Design Diaper Bag. This one was far more affordable though, still looked cute, and worked great for when Remi was a baby. As she got older and bigger, I realized I needed to buy a bigger bag to carry all of her toys and snacks in. So that was the only reason I stopped carrying my Fawn Design dupe. It makes a great infant diaper bag in my opinion, but doesn’t hold a lot when you have a toddler or multiple babies. This bag comes with a changing pad, stroller straps, has two insulated pockets for bottles, and even fits over your luggage when traveling.
Overall this is still a good diaper bag and is super cute! It does have lots of pockets and space, I just wanted something alittle bigger to carry for both my toddler, baby, and myself.
Splurge: The Ayla & Co Diaper Bag
The diaper bag that I carry now is by far my favorite one! I love the design, the space/many pockets, and all of the additional items you get when you purchase your bag, such as the wet bag, stroller straps, insulated pocket bag, silicone snack bag, and leather changing mat. The inside of the bag even unzips to where it can be removed and thrown into the washer to clean, which is so convenient for when you spill something inside of it. I will say this diaper bag is definitely more of a splurge, but has been worth it to us with all the extra space and additional items you receive! They even offer an interest free payment plan to help break down the cost to fit into your personal budget.
We went ahead an ordered the Diaper Bag & Portable Vacuum Bundle that they offer, because we knew we’d always have messes on the go. The vacuum is definitely not a necessary need, but does come in handy when Remi makes a mess in her car seat or when we’re at someone’s house. The Ayla Diaper bag even has its own deep pocket inside, that is designed specifically to hold the vacuum, however we’ve been using it to store other items like a drink or our Dechoker device. I plan on using this bag even after our sons born, because all the pockets are going to come in handy for both an infant and toddler!
The only complaint I have is that I don’t have it in every color 😜.
